BlogWerds Media is proud to announce the launch of SXSWerds.com, a content aggregation and social media platform dedicated to the wild explosion of news, blog, and social media chatter pointed at the main event: South by Southwest 2009!

So what does that mean?

With attention intensifying for SXSW 2009, if you want to find out what news is popping, what blogs are blogging, and where social media chatter is headed, there’s no central platform to see all of that activity — and interact with it in real time — with relation to one of the biggest industry events of the year… until now.

SXSWerds.com delivers a dedicated stream of news, blog, and social media activity, and empowers its community of tech and web enthusiasts with a social media layer to vote on stories and posts, comment, and make their own opinions heard. Further, the SXSWerds.com featured story provides a human editorial layer to mix, culminating in a targeted content aggregation and social media platform that is both unique and indicative of where social media as a whole is headed.

The launch of SXSWerds.com coincides with the debut of two other new BlogWerds Media properties: AmericanIdolWerds.com and SurvivorWerds.com, providing an oasis of news, blog, and social media goodness for two of America’s favorite obsessive television shows!

BlogWerds.com is the first product released by BlogWerds Media. The idea behind BlogWerds Media is to develop social media platforms around underserved yet highly valuable content verticals.

BlogWerds.com is all about company blogs, bringing deserved exposure and coverage to the thousands of companies that are online and actively engaging with customers and audiences through the medium of blogging. Some company blog posts – the occasional one by Digg or Microsoft or Google, let’s say – will garner a great deal of tech and mainstream media press. But what about the rest? And how about allowing information seekers, journalists/bloggers, and industry insiders and enthusiasts a platform to engage with this content and each other? That’s what BlogWerds.com seeks to achieve.

So there’s a value proposition in serving company blogs and actively linking back to the original source companies, and serving audiences in providing a uniquely targeted social media platform.

Future product releases will be based on the same fundamental ideas. For example, within the next month or so new platforms based around mainstream media blogs (think the myriad of blogs published by the likes of The Washington Post and on and on) and musician/band blogs (blogs published by the artists themselves, exposing valuable information such as concert dates and album releases) are planned.

Meanwhile, the base social media platform is being enhanced all the time, so look for many new site features in the coming weeks.

First, we have a nifty design “refresh” in place, including spiffy-ed up logo and cleaner tighter design overall.

And then… we have rolled out two new and important site features. The first is Top Voted Articles, which really pulls the social news / social media aspect of the site platform together for the first time. (Remember, BlogWerds.com “soft launched” just a few weeks ago so there will be lots of new features and wrinkles coming in the months ahead!)

Now no matter what page you’re on, you can see the top company blog articles as voted on by YOU!

Then we have a special new feature called Featured Companies. This is a nice way to celebrate some of the companies who are walking the walk when it comes to promoting themselves and engaging with audiences via blogging.

Current featured company blogs include Facebook, Big in Japan, Spout, Smibs, and Dogster, congrats to all!
